About Hygienicum

HYGIENICUM GmbH in Graz has existed as a competence center for food safety and hygiene since 1998. The services provided by the highly technical laboratories range from research and development to chemical, molecular and microbiological testing, pest control and industrial hygiene.

The combination of experience at the operational level and know-how in the fields and networking with external partners creates our broad expertise. Food

Our services include HACCP concepts, hygiene audits, quality management, food safety, global supply chain control and food labeling audits.

Hygiene

The diverse range of services in the field of hygiene extends from testing for airborne germs, mold, dry rot and water testing for legionella, for example, to industrial hygiene.

Pharma - GMP Testing

GMP-certified microbiological laboratory testing of sterile, non-sterile and biological (endotoxins) manufacturing activities, as well as the import of medicinal products in the same scope of authorization.

Pest control

We combat and inspect for household and commercial pests. Pest monitoring, pest control and biological control are part of our portfolio.

Research and development

Food technology - cross-over solutions for more safety. Furthermore, we offer challenge tests within the framework of Regulation (EC) No. 2073/2005 on microbiological criteria for foodstuffs.

HYGIENICUM® Academy

We offer various seminars for all companies in the food industry. Our goal is to increase and consolidate the effectiveness of food safety measures in your company through training and competence enhancement.

Another service is the training of tattoo artists and piercers, as well as related health-related professions (masseurs, etc.). We also implement controls according to the current, legal requirements.

Corona Test Laboratory (PCR)

We offer the Covid test by PCR method from nasopharyngeal swabs in Austria.

Mon. - Thu: 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m., Fri: 08:00 a.m. - 01:30 p.m.

You have the possibility to deliver your samples around the clock. Our entrance door can be opened with a numerical code. In the entrance area you can deposit the samples in a refrigerator as well as in a freezer.

A day in the life of Christel Oostvogels, lab manager at Lavetan

Even after working for 26 years and having progressed from lab technician to lab manager, Christel Oostvogels still enjoys going to work every day. She is primarily responsible for the day-to-day organization in the laboratory. This includes managing as many as nine teams, organizing the internal flow of samples, and resolving unexpected situations that may arise in the lab. She takes us on a journey through her day working at Lavetan.
