New President of the VUP – Dr. Birgit Schumacher
Dr. Birgit Schumacher elected as President of VUP
Our colleague Dr. Birgit Schumacher, Managing Director of GBA Pharma, was elected as the new President of the German Association of Independent Testing Laboratories (VUP) on June 25, 2025 at the annual conference in Berlin. With immediate effect, she is assuming a central role in the industry association of private testing and calibration laboratories in Germany.
With around 700 member laboratories, the VUP has been an important player since its foundation in 1993 when it comes to quality, competence and the representation of our industry’s interests in politics, standardization bodies and in the quality infrastructure. The Executive Committee of the VUP works on a voluntary basis, but nevertheless with full energy for the further development of our industry.
We at the GBA Group have been actively involved in the VUP for many years in order to further strengthen quality assurance and independence in the testing laboratory industry.
