Specifications for authorised ingredients, correct declaration and, above all, permissible health claims must be complied with here, accompanied by reliable and specific analysis. This ensures that food supplements are not only safe in terms of residues and impurities, but also that the contents stated on the label are reliably adhered to.

If you take a look at the pesticide residue notifications in the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed, you will find the active ingredient chlorpyrifos is often the subject of notifications. In numerous product groups and from a wide variety of countries, goods are found to contain the residue of chlorpyrifos. In the worst case the goods are rejected at one of the EU's external borders.

The Food Information Regulation regulates the labeling of food in the EU and protects consumers by ensuring that they receive all the information they need to be able to make informed decisions. For manufacturers and importers, the correct implementation of the requirements is of great importance.
