What are steviol glycosides?
Steviol glycosides are natural sweeteners extracted from the leaves of the stevia plant. They have up to 300 times more sweetening power than sugar, are virtually calorie-free and are approved as an additive in the EU under the number E 960. Steviol glycosides are used in soft drinks, fruit preparations and desserts, as well as in food supplements.
