Danger from PFT in the environment

PFT are used in many products and industrial areas, such as lubricants, paints, textiles or coatings, due to their simultaneously grease-repellent and water-repellent properties. They can already be released into the environment during their manufacture or during the production of products containing PFT. As PFT do not occur naturally in nature, they are difficult to degrade and are suspected of causing cancer.

PFT remain in the environment for a very long time and are spread via rivers and seas. A high concentration in water poses a danger for the drinking water supply. In order to guarantee a harmless drinking water quality a regular control is inevitable.

With our accredited analysis methods in environmental analysis we analyze all of the established parameters for groundwater, surface water, leachate, and wastewater, as well as drinking water and process water. On request, we can also provide you with analysis according to TOP Assay, as well as Capstone A and B, GENx and H2PFDA. In addition to the traditional analytical scopes, we also offer tests for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs), brominated flame retardants, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, organotin compounds, as well as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs).
